Q&A Sessions for Trainers

ISNLP have been working with trainers to develop a better understanding of how students are given information about ISNLP and general NLP-led business practices.

For a number of years, at the request of some trainers, Karen and Kash have been ‘virtually’ joining their training, towards the end of the course, for a 30 minute Q&A session with their NLP students…quite often this takes place during a break or first thing in the morning, before the day starts, so it is as unobtrusive to the training schedule as possible!

This session gives the students the opportunity to ask about ISNLP, NLP in a business and practice context, the resources we provide, the benefits of being a Member of a Professional Body, our Code of Ethics, the NLP Conference and much, much more.

It also gives you, as the Trainer, the opportunity to demonstrate the close bond you have with ISNLP and why Professional Body Membership is important to you.

This service is available to all our Trainer and Accredited Trainer Members…free of charge. Just email us when you arrange your trainings, so you can reserve your time slots (subject to availability) and we will be delighted to join you, live via Zoom, to take questions directly from your students.

Regional Forums

ISNLP aim to hold 5 Regional Forums each year. These forums are arranged by collaborating with our International or Regional Ambassadors or local members in the area. Both local members and potential members are invited to join representatives of the ISNLP team to give feedback and hear the latest ISNLP news.

The reason ISNLP hold local forums is to enable interaction and communication with members and to reach out to those members who are unable or choose not to attend the Annual NLP International Conference.

The forums are generally held on weekdays during the early evening and ISNLP will supply tea and coffee and a selection of snacks!

Of course, with the new ways of working emerging due to global events in 2020, we are now offering to host these forums via Zoom. Click here to read more about the Regional Forums.

Practice Groups

ISNLP have a support package for members to empower you to set up your own Practice Group in your local area.

ISNLP actively encourage all NLP Professionals to continually practice, evolve and improve their NLP skills. Practice Groups are a perfect environment to do this and promote and aid quality provision of NLP.

If there is no Practice Group currently running in your area, and you would like to set one up, do please email us. We have an existing format that you can model, and we would be happy to share this with you. We can also put you in touch with other proactive groups so you can model their success.

We will send you promotional materials to have on display and to hand out at your group sessions and we can also provide you with copies of Rapport, all FREE of charge! You will also receive ISNLP CPD certificates to distribute to your Practice Group attendees. All ISNLP Practice Groups are promoted on this website.

For more details, check out our Practice Groups page.

Regional/International Ambassadors

The ISNLP International or Regional Ambassador is a prestigious position within ISNLP. Each Ambassador is selected as truly representative of the ethics, professionalism and aspirations of ISNLP and their members with a focus within a particular country or UK region.

As ISNLP continues to grow, our International/UK Regional Ambassadors play a crucial role in improving how we innovate and disseminate the latest developments in NLP and related fields to the ISNLP community. They are helping us to develop thought leadership and contribute to the best practices of business and learning for ISNLP Members and the NLP community. Additionally, they are working with us to plan local events to promote ISNLP, NLP and their local communities.

Being an ISNLP International/UK Regional Ambassador has additional membership benefits for you and gives you a unique opportunity to shape how ISNLP interacts with your country or UK region. These benefits include:

Membership fees refunded when there is successful collaboration (measures are mutually set).
Use of title “ISNLP Regional Ambassador” on ISNLP website and website feature on Ambassador profile page.*
Use of title “ISNLP Regional Ambassador” on own business collateral (business cards, email signatures, website, etc.).
Exclusive feedback into ISNLP Board on new initiatives for your own region.
Keynote speaker opportunities at Regional ISNLP workshops.
Free advertising on ISNLP website for 12 months.*
Eligibility for Regional Ambassador of the Year.
If you feel that you can add to the international/UK Regional voice of ISNLP and would like to work with us on making ISNLP and NLP more accessible in your country or UK region, please contact us.

Inclusivity

With more and more NLP training schools and organisations popping up, the need for a flexible and inclusive NLP Professional Body to impartially represent the NLP Community is crucial.

You can become part of the ISNLP community and enjoy our comprehensive Benefits Packages, because we believe that it does not matter where and who you learnt your NLP with, just what you do with it once you have it!

ISNLP offer you independence from any training school or organisation AND inclusivity – regardless of where you trained or who you trained with, as long as you meet the minimum criteria for membership*, you can join ISNLP.

* Please note: ISNLP do not favour any particular course structure because the quality of training depends on so much more than the length of the course. However, with the current trend of offering extremely short courses and even distance learning, ISNLP has minimum criteria for Professional membership. To join as a Professional member, you will have received a minimum of 50 face to face attendance hours for Practitioner level and 80 face to face attendance hours for Master Practitioner level.

Friendly, knowledgeable support

The ISNLP team provide relevant information for you via the Social Media channels and the Members Updates. If there is a specific query that you cannot find an answer to on the website, then they are on hand to support you via email and phone. If the support you require is more bespoke and unique to your business, we may refer you to our business support services or offer consultancy services, which are then tailored to your requirements.

Credibility and Professionalism

ISNLP Membership offers tools and resources for demonstrating your credibility and professionalism so that potential clients are reassured that they are hiring a consummate professional.

Members Logos

All ISNLP Members from Professional upwards have access to the Members’ logos…chosen by the Members for the Members!

As a consumer you want to see and be reassured that you are getting “quality” when making an important decision. And, of course, this search for a “quality assurance seal” applies when people are looking for an NLP provider.

Using and displaying your ISNLP Members Logo visually demonstrates your commitment to credibility and professionalism by showing that you belong to your Professional Body, which is an impartial and independent NLP Association. This enables you to give potential clients peace of mind when choosing you as their NLP Professional.

You can put your Members Logo in a number of different places so you can shout your message loud and proud that you are an NLP Professional, using NLP in a responsible, ethical and congruent way.

Use your ISNLP members logo on your:

  • Website
  • Business cards
  • Letterheads
  • Adverts
  • Email signatures
  • Leaflets and brochures
  • Stationery
  • Other promotional material
And… you even have 3 styles and 2 colours to choose from…choice is better than no choice – how very NLP!!

Make sure your prospective clients understand the significance of you belonging to ISNLP, the independent NLP Professional Body and displaying the Members Logo on your marketing materials…the reasons are given above…the use of the logo gives peace of mind to the consumer and you have the weight of a Professional body behind you. Use your Members Logo to raise your credibility by visually demonstrating your commitment to ethics, best practice and professionalism and give your clients the reassurance they seek when engaging an NLP professional…

N.B Use of any ISNLP logo on workshop or NLP certificates is strictly prohibited. Please see our Membership Terms and Conditions for full details.

If you are already a member of ISNLP, then log in now to download your Members Logos.

Searchable Online Profile

We know that you have great services to offer to the public, so make sure you tell them about it!

Add a link to your profile from your own website, so potential clients can verify your ISNLP membership quickly and easily and be assured that they are engaging a responsible NLP professional. This simple tip makes a real difference to the client who sees that you have the Professional Association behind you.

You can edit your profile whenever you want and add those all important details to really add to your credibility and professionalism, as well as promote your services to potential clients. Tell them about:

  • What you do – paint a picture in words…Ask a friend or colleague to give you feedback, reference your media appearances…
  • Your areas of expertise/particular specialities – be specific…”Generalists seek clients…Clients seek specialists” Bev James
  • Your qualifications and experience – Mention all your NLP certifications and trainings and give depth to your expertise
  • Your upcoming courses, workshops, events, appearances, etc.
  • Your success stories and case studies – This part is crucial. Think about how you buy products and services…do you read reviews and testimonials…your clients may do this too!
How to contact you – Having the best profile must have a method of contact. Clients will find it less than easy to hire you unless you provide contact information.
  • Add your profile picture. This gives a visual connection for the client to make.
  • You can also put your company logo for further visual impact and upload a video profile link so clients can meet you before they ‘meet you’! Add your social media links so that potential clients can follow you and also experience how other people see you…

Top Tip
Please enter your Practice/Training locations in the box on the experience tab – most people searching for an NLP Professional will search by location, and completing this box is how you will get picked up in their search. Think about what others might type in as a location – will they type Hants or Hampshire, London or Finchley?
This information appears on your profile, so potential clients can see it quickly and easily.

Membership Certificate
Regardless of what level you join at, all ISNLP Members receive a Member’s Certificate.

You can display this Certificate in your business premises and tell clients, without even saying a word, that you belong to the Professional and Independent NLP Association and so they can read about your pledge to delivering best practice and quality NLP services.

By affiliating yourself with an external independent NLP Association, you can demonstrate to clients that you are a responsible and ethical NLP provider, linked with a professional NLP organisation who represent standards, quality and best practice in NLP.

*Please note: Associate Members may not display their Membership certificate on business premises or promote their Membership of ISNLP.

All ISNLP Members agree to adhere to the ISNLP Code of Ethics and this is reflected in the pledge that appears on all Members certificates.

Professional – As an NLP Professional I pledge to respect and honour my ethical obligations to my clients, colleagues and the general public. I agree to comply with the ISNLP Code of Ethics, and I commit to respecting the dignity and worth of every human being and modelling this code with all those that I work with.

Trainer – As an NLP Trainer I pledge to respect and honour my ethical obligations to my clients, colleagues and the general public. I agree to comply with the ISNLP Code of Ethics & Trainers’ Code of Ethics, and I commit to respecting the dignity and worth of every human being and modelling this code with all those that I work with.

Accredited Trainer – As an ISNLP Accredited Trainer I pledge to respect and honour my ethical obligations to my clients, colleagues and the general public. I agree to comply with the ISNLP Code of Ethics & Trainers’ Code of Ethics, and I commit to respecting the dignity and worth of every human being and modelling this code with all those that I work with.

All the pledges also include:

  • If I breach the Code of Ethics, or this pledge, then I agree that ISNLP may hold me accountable and instigate action under their Complaints and Disciplinary procedure. This action may result in the loss of my ISNLP membership.

Code of Ethics
As an NLP Professional, it is essential to be able to confidently demonstrate, to existing and potential clients, your credibility, professionalism and commitment to delivering quality.

Your adherence to an Independent and external NLP Organisation’s Code of Ethics demonstrates commitment to ethical and quality provision of NLP.

By holding yourself as accountable and responsible, you can gain public trust and increase client confidence in your services.

The ISNLP Code of Ethics and Trainers Code of Ethics, if applicable, can be placed on your own website or within your promotional materials to demonstrate your professionalism and credibility to your potential clients.

Members Code of Ethics – click here.

Trainers Code of Ethics – click here.

Complaints Procedure
ISNLP has a comprehensive Complaints Policy, which includes a clear Complaints Process and provision for holding a Professional Conduct Hearing, should the need arise.

The administration process is managed by the ISNLP Team and all aspects of any complaint are assessed by an Independent Complaints Panel, to ensure there are no conflicts of interest.

Best Practice Guidelines
ISNLP offers you best practice guidelines through Rapport articles, your Members Updates and by providing a series of templates and resources for members to download for use within their own business practice.

ISNLP Publications
As a member of ISNLP, you have opportunities to raise your own credibility and professional standing by submitting articles for publication in both Rapport (published quarterly) and Acuity.

If there is a topic that you think would be of interest to Rapport readers then check ot our Writing for Rapport page and get your article published – ISNLP members are favoured during the selection process.

Acuity also relies upon quality contributions. The aim of Acuity is to promote stimulating developments in NLP: new models, techniques, applications, refinements and new perspectives to old themes. We would like to help you share your discoveries with the rest of the NLP community so we are inviting you to submit original, well written and well-referenced contributions for publication in the journal.

ISNLP Introductory Membership

ISNLP Introductory Membership is a great Trainer benefit. Demonstrate your commitment to your students…and create added value for your courses at the same time.

ISNLP Introductory Membership is a great benefit for our Trainer and Accredited Trainers only. Demonstrate your commitment to your students by starting them off on the right foot…and create added value for your courses at the same time.

Once students have completed their course with you, they are keen to continue their journey. So imagine how your students will feel when they qualify and you offer them a saving of up to £130 by giving them 3 months full membership of ISNLP (at the membership level appropriate to the certification)!

Introductory Membership is a great way of adding value to your courses by offering guidance to students wanting to continue their NLP journey and become NLP Professionals. Why not demonstrate your professionalism by giving your students the tools they need for the best start in their NLP Career.

What is Introductory Membership?
Introductory Membership is an insight into life as an ISNLP Member. It is a chance to experience what being an NLP Professional is all about.

Introductory Membership is available in 3 levels:

  • Associate,
  • Professional and
  • Trainer level depending on which is best for your students.

The ISNLP Introductory membership is essentially a 3 month full membership. Both Professional and Trainer members will have their profile live on our website for others to view during their Introductory Membership.

During the 3 months, your students will receive a series of ‘How to …’ emails explaining how to make the most out of their ISNLP Membership. We want to give your students the chance to experience life as an NLP Professional and to welcome them into the growing ISNLP International community.

So how do you get Introductory Membership for your students?
It’s easy! Introductory Memberships are exclusive to ISNLP Trainer and Accredited Trainer members and they are available to purchase through the online store, when you are logged in as a Trainer or Accredited Trainer member. There are 3 levels of Introductory Membership:

  • Associate level is for anyone with an NLP certificate. It could be a diploma, an introductory course or higher. UK based students will receive a copy of Rapport and full access to an Associate Membership profile. This is a great gift for any student wanting to continue their exploration into NLP and expand their knowledge.
  • Professional level is for NLP Practitioner students and above. Professional students will have access to their own profile where they can create their online presence, can access our business templates have a go at uploading case studies, and join in with our Members’ forums and other benefits. What better way for your new students to embark upon their own career as an NLP Professional.
  • Trainer level is for students who have just completed Trainers Training and are ready to start advertising their own courses and workshops online as well as their services as an NLP Trainer. They will appear on our Professionals and Trainers search facilities, in just the same way that our regular trainer members do.

When your course starts, purchase the required number of Introductory Memberships from the online store. As soon as you have purchased your Introductory Memberships, you can immediately download the template we have created, so you can enter your students’ details all in one place, and email them back to us, to allow us time to prepare the packs and send them back to you. Ideally, we can turn these around in 7 days so the packs can be sent to you in plenty of time to present to your students with their certificates at the end of your course. UK based students will receive a welcome pack containing a previous issue of Rapport Magazine, their member’s certificate, the latest ISNLP information…and more!

At the same time, we will set your students up with their ISNLP profile, which they can start to use the day their pack is issued.

If you are an ISNLP Accredited Trainer, Introductory Membership is included in the cost of your Accreditation Seals or Certificates.

What a great gift for all ISNLP Trainer and Accredited Trainer members to give their students … who are, of course, the NLP Professionals of tomorrow!

Best Practice Guidelines
As an ISNLP member, you are encouraged to deliver your NLP in line with our shared values and to the best of your ability. To support you in doing this, we have some guidelines and templates which you can use to enhance your business practice.

These are downloadable from your members dashboard or via the Resources Tab on the website menu.

Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) Guidelines
On 1st March 2011, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) extended their remit to cover marketing communications on organisations’ own websites and any other non-paid for space under their control (eg Facebook). Full details of their remit can be found here

ASA Guidelines

The ASA’s remit has been extended to ensure that advertising and marketing materials on websites, as with other advertising, is decent, legal, honest and truthful. The CAP Code (and the BCAP Code for broadcast advertising) is written and revised after wide ranging consultations with stakeholders in order to ensure the integrity of advertising, promotions and direct marketing.

The ISNLP Code of Ethics already encourages similar levels of responsibility, so providing you are complying with these, you are already well on the way to complying with the regulations.

The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) work with business owners and agencies to provide guidance and advice for complying with the current and new regulatory remit. The ASA enforces the Code, and the CAP Copy Advice Team advises advertisers on how their advertising complies with the Code and where necessary, suggests changes.

ISNLP worked with CAP to provide some general and specific advice for their members.

To access the ISNLP advice for members, please go to your members dashboard or to the Resources Tab on the website menu.

Business Templates
ISNLP are often asked if we have any templates that members can use as a starting point when developing their own business.

Some of our more experienced members have kindly given us permission to share their contracts and pre-screening information in word document form, so that you can download these and tailor them to your own requirements.

Please note that these are generic documents for guidance only and we do recommend you seek independent legal advice when drafting contracts, to ensure they meet your specific requirements.

To access the business templates, please go to your members dashboard or to the Resources Tab on the website menu.

Marketing Guidelines

ISNLP have produced Top 10 Marketing Tips guidelines for making best use of your membership.

To access these tips, please go to your members dashboard or to the Resources Tab on the website menu.

Marketing Tools

As part of your Membership, ISNLP give you the marketing tools and top tips to help you grow your NLP business.

Members Logo

Have you thought about using your Members Logo on your website and creating a link back to your profile via the logo? This way, potential clients can quickly and easily check your membership status with your Professional Body.

Have your logo on your marketing materials, ready for when ISNLP run their own marketing and educational campaigns, such as ‘Look for the Logo’. This campaign, which runs periodically, encourages members of the public to only engage with NLP Professionals who display the ISNLP Members Logo, a kite mark for professionalism and best practice in an unregulated industry.

You can use the above in your marketing materials to demonstrate how you uphold standards in the NLP Community and you can tell your clients about it and gain public trust by using these tools.

Code of Ethics

When joining or renewing, all Members of ISNLP agree to adhere to the ISNLP Code of Ethics.

Is this a marketing advantage?

Yes!

As an NLP Professional, it is essential to be able to confidently demonstrate to existing and potential clients, your credibility, professionalism and commitment to delivering quality.

By holding yourself as accountable and responsible you can gain public trust and increase client confidence in your services. Adherence to an Independent and external Professional Body Code of Ethics demonstrates commitment to ethical and quality provision of NLP. ISNLP has set the standard with their Code of Ethics and incorporating these into your marketing materials or referencing it by providing a link from your website adds to your credibility as an NLP Professional.

Searchable Online Profile

Your online profile is the best opportunity you have of engaging with your potential clients. So, treat it like a marketing tool and take the time to make it as complete as possible, update it and keep it fresh and relevant.

There are several features that allow you to give the best possible view of your business to potential clients visiting our website…

So let’s draw your attention to a few relevant and important parts of your profile:

  • Your profile is where you can upload your photo, write your profile piece and upload your You Tube video – these will all appear on your public profile.
  • Your contact details can include your Facebook, Linked In, Twitter links and an RSS feed, and these will appear on your public profile. What better way to market to your potential clients by driving them directly to the social media sites where they can interact with you and get to know you better.
  • Your experience listing can form a core part of your marketing…
  • Do you have a speciality? Is there something you excel at using NLP that clients will be searching for? Add this into the Experience boxes and add testimonials from real clients that can show the results you can get. As Bev James, author, millionaires mentor and CEO of the Coaching Academy says, “Clients seek Specialists…Generalists seek Clients…” so use your niche specialities to attract the clients you want to work with.
  • Do also enter your Practice/Training locations in the relevant box – most people searching for an NLP Professional will search by location, and completing this box is how you will get picked up in their search. Think about what others might type in as a location – will they type Hants or Hampshire, London or Finchley?
  • If you have achieved ISNLP Accreditation, then you get your own page on the ISNLP website in addition to your members profile. You can add and edit the content and use this to promote your services to the public.

This appears as an additional page on your profile and the public can see this by selecting the option ‘Visit their personal page’ when they are looking at your profile.

This is a flexible and valuable marketing tool for those who have achieved ISNLP Accreditation because the content of this page is entirely up to you…and of course it all helps to raise your profile both on the ISNLP website and in the search engine rankings.

Online Promotional Facilities

As a Member you get UNLIMITED PROMOTION of any events, case studies & success stories, and Practice Groups on our website as well as your online profile.

When people look for information about NLP on the internet, guess where they often end up? On the ISNLP website, because we are a Top 10 Google Ranking website without paying for Goodle Adverts.

This means that when anyone taps NLP into their search engine, we are always in the Top 10 organic results, and usually in the Top 5.

What does this mean for you?

This means that when people search for NLP and they are faced with 19 million results (yes, it really is 19 million) your profile will appear in the top 10 of these results. And unless you run one of the 9 NLP training companies that also occupies the top ten rankings or you pay a lot of money for Google Adwords, this could be the best way of ensuring your NLP profile does appear in the Top Ten!

Join ISNLP, raise your profile and send your message directly to your target audience who could be on our website looking for your services!

Diary Events

Have you got a course, workshop or practice group event coming up?

If you are running any Workshops, Training Courses or even Practice Group meetings, then add them to our online Diary. Many visitors will come to our site looking for a Practitioner course or workshop, so adding your diary events into our listing makes good marketing sense, especially as we are the only membership organisation to rank in the top ten when ‘NLP’ is the search term.

Simply add it onto our online Diary Events page whenever you want and we will promote your courses to our website visitors.

If you are running the same event on different dates, there is the facility to add multiple events using the same description.

Top Tip:
Add your diary events to the website in good time and they will also appear listed in Rapport, our quarterly magazine – another opportunity for marketing your courses!

Success Stories and Case Studies

Have you got some practical client related success stories or case studies, which illustrate how NLP has helped someone you know with a particular challenge or issue? Then share these with us and the visitors to our website and ensure they feature in the Why NLP section.

As a member, you can upload case studies and success stories onto our website, and then have these automatically included in the section of the website that demonstrates the practical applications of NLP to the public.

This is another great marketing opportunity because you are illustrating your areas of expertise within NLP, because your case studies and success stories link back to your profile. You are also helping to promote NLP, by demonstrating how NLP can be used to help people with relevant, every day challenges that they can identify with.

Case studies are sorted into categories, so that they can be easily identified by the public visiting that page. If you have a case study that does not fit into any of the existing categories, do contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Practice Groups

If you run a Practice Group, check out our Practice Group page because we can add your group to our Practice Group search section. You will also receive ISNLP’s support pack for Practice Groups.

Link to your Practice Group profile from your own website to increase the potential visitors to your Practice Group and generate more collaboration within the NLP Community – you never know when the next opportunity will arise.

Client Reviews

We all value product and services reviews and you now have the same opportunities to promote your good service(s) via your members profile.

Ask your clients and students to post a favourable review on your profile, which then acts as a third-party review for your services and gives potential clients additional confidence in your services. You can invite your client and students to review your services directly from your online dashboard.

Top Tip:

It is important that these reviews are third party reviews i.e. from someone else extolling your virtues as a great coach or NLP Trainer. If you log in and post the reviews yourself, they won’t be approved by ISNLP, because they will appear on your profile as Joe Bloggs reviews Joe Bloggs…and the whole point is for the testimonial to be from someone else…not you! If your clients are reluctant to leave a review themselves, then post this information on your profile page, rather than in client reviews, where is will still be visible to the public viewing your page.

Targeted Advertising Opportunities and Website Advertising
As a Top 10 Google Ranking Website, we are the place where people land when looking for information on NLP.

ISNLP always has a first page presence on the Google listings and according to Google Analytics, our last recorded figure [in March 2019] indicated that we received in excess of 20,000 page views

Members of ISNLP already benefit from that web presence, through the Professional and Trainer search facilities as well as the online Events Diary.

Now YOU can benefit even more from the ISNLP powerful web presence through our online advertising.

Accredited Trainers and Trainer members receive a complimentary advertising package as part of their membership.

All Members can upload and manage both text and image adverts on the ISNLP website. They can also view the web statistics for your advert within your profile, so you can see how many page views and clicks your advert has had.

Independent Professional Association
ISNLP is a truly 100% independent NLP organisation.

What does this mean?

This means that ISNLP is the only NLP Members Organisation with an established public reputation which does not offer its own NLP Training, Coaching or Workshops.

Our independence enables us to be entirely impartial; recognising and embracing all schools of NLP that meet the high standards, best practice and professionalism that we strive to maintain AND we can do this without bias or preference.

This is a great marketing point from your perspective because you can demonstrate that have membership of a truly independent Professional Body that has checked your certification and provides you with a self regulatory framework for delivering your NLP.

Our independence also means that we are not in direct competition with any of our Members, and this allows us to focus all of our energy in promoting our Members services, encouraging best practice and raising public awareness, trust and confidence in the field of NLP. We are here to raise your profile, and the profile of NLP so that it can become a viable and trustworthy developmental tool and can reach the people who need it most.

Q&A Sessions for Trainers

ISNLP have been working with trainers to develop a better understanding of how students are given information about ISNLP and general NLP-led business practices.

ISNLP have been working with trainers to develop a better understanding of how students are given information about ISNLP and general NLP-led business practices.

For a number of years, at the request of some trainers, Karen has been ‘virtually’ joining their training, towards the end of the course, for a 30 minute Q&A session with their NLP students…quite often this takes place during a break or first thing in the morning, before the day starts, so it is as unobtrusive to the training schedule as possible!
